Speakers from the 1960s

The sealed-box decade. Acoustic Research's AR-3a of 1967, then the AR-5 and AR-2ax, put dome midranges and tweeters in boxes about 25 inches tall, and the small AR-4x brought the idea to small rooms. Henry Kloss's Advent Loudspeaker arrived at the end of the decade and took on the best three-ways with two drivers. Early AR-3a woofers had cloth surrounds, and foam took over from 1969.
