Built to stand on the floor. Here that means JBL's compact L65 Jubal with its smoked-glass top, Klipsch's two-way KG 4 and Infinity's towers, from the late-1970s Qb to the RS III, RS 2.5 and Kappa 8, which stand about four feet tall. The big Infinitys weigh 40 to 53 kilograms each and several run at 4 ohms or lower, so check your floor space, your stairs and your amplifier before you buy a pair.
